Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Diversity of Me; Keeping It Real is a brand created by Tanya Rai for the purposes of publishing a podcast of the same name. Tanya also works as a freelancer within the broadcast industry under three strands: Diversity, Virtual/Hybrid Events and Marketing.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it:

Blog

You have the option to subscribe to our blog. Here you are asked for your email address only. This data is kept securely via WordPress, Gmail and Google Drive who are GDPR compliant. You will only be emailed for the purposes of receiving a new blog post.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you choose to leave a comment on this website you accept that:

— it will be published at the bottom of the page

— the name you enter into the ‘name’ field will be published on the comment

— you may wish to use only your first name or an alias. If you accidentally use your full name, this can be deleted upon request by emailing {tanya <at> diversityofme <dot> com}

— the email address you use is not published on the comment itself. You are not subscribing to our blog nor will you be added to an email list by entering your email to leave a comment.

— your IP address will be logged when you leave a comment. This data is not made public.

Please note that comments are moderated. We approve and edit them at our discretion based on the following guidelines:

— We will not publish any comment we consider to be offensive, unhelpful, promoting a course of action we disagree with, or simply self-promotion.

— we may shorten long comments to improve the reader experience.

— we may edit your comment to delete any names if you have referred to others.

— we may delete old comments if I consider this will improve the reader experience.

Contact forms

When you use the contact form you are asked for your name and email address so that we are able to respond to your query. Again, this data is kept securely via WordPress, Gmail and Google Drive who are GDPR compliant.

If you have ticked the box to confirm that we can email you from time to time, then you will be added to an email list. In the future you may be notified about updates around the publication of new podcast episodes released by The Diversity of Me; Keeping It Real, as well as new blog posts and other news. These updates will be via a newsletter using Mailchimp where your data will be kept securely. Mailchimp is GDPR compliant. There will be the ability to opt out of these communications at any time via the newsletter or by using the Contact Us form on this website. You can also opt out by emailing {tanya <at> diversityofme <dot> com}.
